Akila’s Journey from Dreams to Reality

One such inspiring story is that of Akila, a determined young woman who, with the support of Deepam Foundation, overcame challenges to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse.

Akila’s journey began at our orphanage, where she found a safe and nurturing environment to grow and learn. Despite the challenges posed by her circumstances, Akila was always determined to pursue her passion for healthcare. With limited resources but an unyielding spirit, she dreamt of making a difference in people’s lives through nursing.

That’s when Deepam Foundation stepped in. Recognizing Akila’s potential and her passion for healthcare, we provided her with the financial and emotional support she needed to pursue her studies. Akila enrolled at Chettinad College of Nursing in 2016, where she embarked on her B.Sc. Nursing journey. Throughout her academic years, Deepam Foundation ensured she had access to the resources, mentorship, and encouragement she needed to succeed – from scholarship support to guidance and motivation.

The road was not always easy, but Akila’s perseverance, combined with the support from Deepam Foundation, helped her overcome every obstacle. In 2020, she graduated with a B.Sc. in Nursing, a monumental achievement that marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

Today, Akila is proudly working as a nurse at the Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore, one of the country’s leading healthcare institutions. She brings not only her professional expertise but also her compassion and dedication to the lives of the patients she cares for. Akila’s story is a testament to the fact that, with the right support, determination, and opportunities, one can overcome any barrier and transform their dreams into reality.
